It is the former DBS Building and has two towers on a shared podium. Tower 1 was completed in 1975 with 50 storeys and a height of about 201 metres. Tower 2 was added in 1994 with 36 storeys, at about 150 metres. The land is reported to be on a 99-year lease running to July 2066.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Today the complex combines offices in both towers, the Downtown Gallery shopping mall along the podium, and 268 serviced apartments on the lower and middle floors of Tower 1. The apartments opened as Oakwood Premier OUE Singapore and were rebranded Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore in July 2022. The office space has been owned by OUE REIT (formerly OUE Commercial REIT) since 2018.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch3>Interesting facts\u003C\u002Fh3>\u003Cul>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>When Tower 1 was completed in 1975 it was the tallest building in Singapore. It served as the headquarters of DBS Bank for decades.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>DBS sold the towers to a Goldman Sachs property fund in 2005 and leased them back. OUE bought the complex in 2010 for about $870 million, and DBS moved to Marina Bay Financial Centre in 2012.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>OUE then carried out a major refurbishment, completed in 2017, which replaced the old cladding with a glass curtain wall and created the mall and serviced apartments.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>In 2018 OUE sold the office component to its REIT for $908 million. Downtown MRT (Downtown Line) is around 8 minutes away. The Singapore Conference Hall is across the road, and SGX Centre, V on Shenton and Capital Tower are close by.
