Built in the late 1980s, it had 33 shops on the lower floors with apartments above, and a gross floor area of just over 60,000 sq ft.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>The building no longer exists. Its owners sold it collectively in March 2019 for $120 million to Peak Tower Corporation, and it was later demolished. A new hotel, Varel Singapore, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, opened on the site on 2 April 2026 with 128 rooms. OneMap now lists 189 Selegie Road, Singapore 188332, under the hotel's name.
