Homes and industry in the same district
District 14 is the clearest mixed-economy district in the directory. 210 of its developments are classified residential and 35 industrial — the largest industrial count of any district here — with commercial and mixed-use buildings besides. The industrial strata buildings cluster around Ubi and Paya Lebar; the residential blocks fill the numbered lorongs of Geylang and the streets around Eunos.
The distinction matters because an industrial management office does a visibly different job. Its day involves goods lifts and loading bays, contractor registration, after-hours and weekend work permits, and fitting-out conditions for tenants installing plant. A residential office in the same district is dealing with renovation permits, access cards and common-area repairs. Both are management corporations under the same Act; what they are asked for differs entirely.
Who manages D14
Ocean IFM runs 19 of the district's developments, The Lock Management Services 12 and Landsfield Property Management 11. 392 of the 434 developments have a management office number on file.
A note on names
Geylang's lorongs produce a lot of similar-looking addresses, and several developments in the district carry names that differ from the one on the strata roll. Search by MCST number where you have it — it is the identifier the office itself uses, and it does not change when a building is renamed or resold.
