About 20 Beatty Road
20 Beatty Road is a small strata-titled building in the Jalan Besar area of Singapore, listed as a shophouse with apartments above. Its address is 20 Beatty Road, Singapore 209947, in District 8 (Little India, Farrer Park). OneMap records two address points under this postal code, 20 and 20A Beatty Road, and gives the property no building name. The owners are organised as Management Corporation Strata Title (MCST) Plan No. 682, the lowest plan number among the Beatty Road blocks in this directory, which suggests it was the first of them to be strata-titled.
Interesting facts
Beatty Road takes its name from Earl David Beatty (1871 to 1936), a British admiral of the First World War.
The name belongs to a group chosen after a 1926 municipal decision to commemorate British and French wartime commanders in the streets around Jalan Besar.
Traffic on Beatty Road flows one way, from Serangoon Road towards Lavender Street.
