About Farrer Square

Farrer Square is a mixed-use development of medical suites, a hotel and shops at 10 and 12 Farrer Park Station Road, in District 8 (Little India / Farrer Park). The medical tower, Farrer Square Medical Suites, uses the address 12 Farrer Park Station Road, Singapore 217565. The hotel uses number 10. The project was developed by RB Capital on a 99-year leasehold site bought at a government land tender in April 2012 for $151 million. RSP Architects was reported as the designer, and the whole scheme was described at launch as a $450 million project.

The medical tower contains 42 purpose-built strata medical suites, reported at about 500 to 1,000 square feet each, above a ground-floor retail podium. The 20-storey hotel has 300 rooms. It opened in May 2017 as Park Hotel Farrer Park and was rebranded on 7 September 2021 as Holiday Inn Singapore Little India, run by IHG Hotels & Resorts.

Interesting facts

  • The development stands above Farrer Park MRT station and directly across from Connexion, home of Farrer Park Hospital, which gives the two buildings a combined cluster of private medical space.

  • RB Capital put the newly opened hotel on the market in 2017. Trade press at the time called it the first Singapore hotel offered for sale since 2013.

  • The hotel has kept its 300-room count through the change of brand from Park Hotel to Holiday Inn.

  • The wider Farrer Park area takes its name from a former president of the Municipal Commissioners. The ground was Singapore's first racecourse from 1842 to 1933.

Farrer Park MRT (North East Line) is directly below, and Little India MRT (North East and Downtown lines) is about 10 minutes' walk. Connexion is across the road. City Square Mall, built on the old New World amusement park site, and the 24-hour Mustafa Centre are a few minutes away. For local food, Tekka Centre and Berseh Food Centre are both within a 10 to 15 minute walk.
