About AIA Tower
AIA Tower is an office building at 1 Robinson Road, Singapore 048542, in postal District 1. It was completed in the early 1990s and officially opened in 1993 as the Singapore home of insurer AIA. Sources describe it as a tower of about 24 to 26 storeys, roughly 120 metres tall. It stands at the northern end of Robinson Road, next to Finlayson Green and a short walk from Raffles Place.
The building remains in use as offices. As of 2026 we found no announcement that it is being sold or redeveloped, and leasing agents continue to list office space there. Property portals list the building as holding a BCA Green Mark certification.
Interesting facts
The tower replaced the 12-storey American International Building, completed at the end of 1957 and opened in April 1958. That building was designed by John Graham and Company with Swan and Maclaren, and was among Singapore's tallest when new.
The 1950s building was noted for features that were new to local offices at the time, including full air-conditioning, high-speed lifts and shower rooms with hot water.
The old building was demolished in 1990. According to Wikipedia, the design of the present tower takes its cue from the former American International Building at 70 Pine Street in New York.

Raffles Place MRT (East-West and North-South Lines) is about a 3-minute walk. Telok Ayer MRT and Downtown MRT (both Downtown Line) are around 5 to 7 minutes away. Neighbours include Ocean Financial Centre, Republic Plaza, CapitaSpring and Hong Leong Building. Lau Pa Sat hawker centre is a few minutes' walk down Robinson Road. Telok Ayer Street's temples and shophouses, Boat Quay and the Singapore River are all within about 10 minutes on foot.
