Bendemeer Primary School: a shared educational heritage

Bendemeer Primary School was established in 1977 and officially opened the following year. Its first pupils came from several schools, giving it a shared heritage from the outset. Over time, school mergers and campus improvements have continued to shape its identity.

In 2004, Bendemeer Primary merged with Beng Wan Primary School. Following PRIME upgrading, the school relocated in 2005, with the new campus officially opened during its 30th-anniversary celebrations in 2007. Additional classroom blocks and an indoor sports hall followed under further upgrading in 2012.

A second merger brought Balestier Hill Primary School into Bendemeer Primary in 2019. The combined school retained the Bendemeer Primary name, carrying forward the histories of both school communities.

Student leadership and the performing arts feature among the milestones recorded by the MOE Heritage Centre. A Learning for Life Programme focused on community involvement and leadership was recognised in 2014, followed by a music and performing-arts programme in 2017.

This history provides context for the school’s development as an educational institution. For current programmes, school notices and visitor arrangements, readers should consult Bendemeer Primary School’s official website.
