About Cairnhill Crest

Cairnhill Crest is a freehold condominium at 2, 4, 6 and 8 Cairnhill Circle in District 9 (Orchard, Cairnhill, River Valley).   • With 248 homes, Cairnhill Crest is one of the larger condominiums on the hill. Most newer projects on Cairnhill Rise and Cairnhill Circle have well under 200 units.

  • OneMap lists four separate postal codes for the estate, 229811 to 229814, one for each block number from 2 to 8 Cairnhill Circle.

  • The hill was known as Carnie Hill in the 1840s, after planter Charles Carnie, who is reputed to have been the first European to live permanently in the Tanglin area. Blight ended the nutmeg estates here in the 1850s.

  • According to NLB Infopedia, the summit of the hill later held a bank manager's bungalow, which made way in 1959 for Hilltops, one of Singapore's early high-rise apartment complexes.

Newton MRT (North South and Downtown Lines) is around 8 to 10 minutes away on foot, and Somerset and Orchard stations are a similar walk in the other direction. Paragon, Mount Elizabeth Hospital and the Orchard Road malls are at the foot of the hill. Newton Food Centre is the nearest hawker centre. Neighbours on Cairnhill Circle include Cairnhill Residences. The Emerald Hill conservation area is close by. Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) is at Winstedt Road.
