About CanningHill Piers

CanningHill Piers is a 696-unit condominium at 1 and 5 Clarke Quay, on the former Liang Court site between Fort Canning Hill and the Singapore River in District 6 (City Hall, Clarke Quay). It is a joint venture between City Developments Limited (CDL) and CapitaLand Development, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) with DP Architects as the local partner. The site carries a 99-year lease that started on 17 September 2021.

The homes are in two towers. The riverside tower has 48 storeys and stands about 180 metres tall, while the tower facing Fort Canning has 24 storeys and rises to about 100 metres. Units range from one to five bedrooms, plus sky suites and a penthouse. The condominium is the residential part of an integrated development that also holds the CanningHill Square retail podium (9 Clarke Quay), the Moxy Singapore Clarke Quay hotel (7 Clarke Quay) and a Somerset serviced residence. When launched in 2021 the developers targeted completion in 2025. The sale documents give 30 June 2027 as the latest date for vacant possession, and OneMap still labelled the towers as under construction when checked in September 2026.

  • CDL describes the 180-metre tower as the tallest residential building along the Singapore River.

  • The developers billed it as BIG's first residential project to be completed in Asia.

  • A sky bridge on level 24 links the two towers and holds fitness facilities. There is also a garden deck on level 3 and a clubhouse on level 45.

  • The site was home to Liang Court from 1984 to 2020, a mall long known for its Japanese shops.

  • A single facade treatment drapes over all four blocks and the podium so the project reads as one composition.

Nearby

Fort Canning MRT (Downtown Line) is reached by a direct underpass. Clarke Quay MRT (North East Line) is about eight minutes away on foot, and river taxis stop nearby. Fort Canning Park is across River Valley Road, and Clarke Quay's restaurants and bars are next door, with Robertson Quay and Boat Quay further along the river.
