Interesting facts

  • The towers replaced part of the original Concourse complex. The Paul Rudolph Institute records that the podium was partly demolished in April 2009 to make way for the new residential towers.

  • Hong Fok obtained the wider site at a government sale of sites in 1979. Work on The Concourse began in 1981, stalled during the mid-1980s recession and finished in 1994.

  • Before redevelopment, the land along this stretch of Beach Road facing Kallang Basin was occupied by squatters and small marine workshops.

  • The facilities list includes a 50-metre lap pool, a sky garden and a covered link towards Nicoll Highway MRT station.

Nicoll Highway MRT (Circle Line) is about a 3-minute walk by the covered link. Bugis MRT (East-West and Downtown Lines) and Lavender MRT (East-West Line) are each roughly 10 minutes away. Neighbours include The Concourse, The Plaza, Golden Mile Tower and the former Golden Mile Complex, now under restoration. Golden Mile Food Centre is a few minutes along Beach Road. Kampong Glam, Sultan Mosque and Arab Street are just across the road, and the Kallang Basin waterfront is behind Nicoll Highway. Stamford Primary School is the closest primary school.
