About DUO Galleria

DUO Galleria is the retail podium of the DUO development at 7 Fraser Street in Bugis, District 7 (Bugis, Beach Road, Middle Road). It has roughly 56,000 to 60,000 sq ft of lettable space, spread over the ground level and a basement concourse that joins Bugis MRT station. It opened with the rest of DUO, which was completed in 2017 and officially opened in January 2018. The developer was M+S, the Khazanah Nasional and Temasek joint venture, and the designer was Ole Scheeren.

Unlike the enclosed malls around Bugis, the Galleria is laid out around an open, landscaped plaza with water features between the two towers. It is mainly a food and drink destination. A 2024 EdgeProp report named tenants such as the French grocer and bistro So France, the Michelin-starred restaurant Seroja and several cafes and wine bars. Tenant line-ups change, so check before visiting.

Interesting facts

  • M+S sold the Galleria together with the DUO Tower offices in 2019 for $1.575 billion to Allianz Real Estate and Gaw Capital Partners. The retail space was 97 per cent occupied at the time.

  • DUO won a 2021 Urban Habitat Award from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, an award that looks at how a tall building treats the public space around it.

  • An underground walkway to Guoco Midtown, which opened in stages from 2023, brought noticeably more foot traffic through the basement level.

  • DUO took a Silver award for best future project at the MIPIM Asia Awards in 2012, years before it was built.

Nearby

Bugis MRT station (East-West and Downtown Lines) connects directly at basement level, two to three minutes away. Nicoll Highway MRT (Circle Line) is about ten minutes on foot. Parkview Square, The Gateway, Guoco Midtown and Raffles Hospital are the immediate neighbours. Across Ophir Road are Arab Street, Haji Lane and Sultan Mosque. Bugis Junction, Bugis+ and the National Library are five to ten minutes' walk in the other direction, and Golden Mile Food Centre is further along Beach Road.
