Klimt Cairnhill is a freehold residential development of 138 homes in a single 36-storey tower on Cairnhill Road. Its developer, Low Keng Huat, gives the address as 71 Cairnhill Road. The development is managed as MCST 4929, with CBRE as its managing agent.
From Cairnhill Mansion to Klimt Cairnhill
The site was assembled in two purchases. In February 2018, Low Keng Huat (Singapore) Ltd announced the collective purchase of Cairnhill Mansion at 69 Cairnhill Road, a freehold site of about 43,103 sq ft, for S$362 million (SGX announcement, 14 February 2018). EdgeProp reported that the price matched the reserve set in a public tender that had closed in December 2017 (EdgeProp, February 2018).
In June 2018, the group's subsidiary Glopeak Development agreed to buy the neighbouring land at 67 Cairnhill Road for S$100 million, to be combined with the Cairnhill Mansion site (SGX announcement, 7 June 2018).
A tower and a conserved bungalow
When the project was launched in 2021, EdgeProp reported that the tower was designed by DP Architects, with interiors by LTW Designworks, and described its curved form and gold façade (EdgeProp, August 2021). These describe the original design intent.
The development also keeps an early twentieth-century house. URA's conservation portal lists 71 Cairnhill Road as a conserved bungalow (URA Conservation Portal), and Low Keng Huat describes the restored 1902 bungalow as the residents' clubhouse (Low Keng Huat).
