About One Pearl Bank

One Pearl Bank is a 774-unit condominium at 1 and 1A Pearl Bank, Singapore 169016, on the slope of Pearl's Hill in Outram, District 3 (Queenstown, Tiong Bahru). It was developed by CapitaLand through Areca Investment Pte Ltd and designed by Serie+Multiply, a joint venture between London-based Serie Architects and Singapore's Multiply Architects. The project consists of two curved 39-storey towers about 178 metres tall, joined at the top by a sky bridge. The site of roughly 7,650 square metres carries a 99-year lease from 1 March 2019. Property portals record completion in 2024.

The development stands on the site of the former Pearl Bank Apartments, which was demolished in 2020. Sales began in July 2019 and the last unit was sold on 31 October 2023.

Interesting facts

  • CapitaLand bought Pearl Bank Apartments for $728 million in a private treaty collective sale on 13 February 2018. Owners had tried several times since 2007 to sell.

  • The old Pearl Bank Apartments, completed in 1976 to a design by Archurban Architects Planners, was a 38-storey horseshoe-shaped tower of 280 units and the tallest residential building in Singapore when built. The curved plan of the new towers refers to that shape.

  • A 2012 proposal to conserve the old tower voluntarily won support from most owners but not the full consent that was required.

  • The towers hold 18 sky allotment gardens with close to 200 planting plots where residents can grow herbs and vegetables.

  • About three quarters of the site is given over to greenery, and a side gate opens directly into Pearl's Hill City Park.

Nearby

Outram Park MRT station, an interchange for the East-West, North East and Thomson-East Coast lines, is about 200 metres away, a walk of three to five minutes. Chinatown and Maxwell stations are within about 500 metres. Pearl's Hill City Park is next door. People's Park Complex and Chinatown Complex Food Centre are a short walk. Singapore General Hospital is across Outram Road. Cantonment Primary School and CHIJ (Kellock) are the closest primary schools.
