Peninsula Shopping Complex is a strata-titled shopping centre at 3 Coleman Street in the Civic District (District 6), forming the retail podium beneath a hotel tower. NLB Infopedia dates the Peninsula Hotel and Shopping Centre to 1971. The land is held on a 999-year lease, which property portals date from 1828.
Generations of Singaporeans know the mall for its specialist trades. Guitar and musical-instrument shops cluster in the basement, camera and photography dealers trade on the lower floors, and sports shops sit higher up, alongside collectibles, thrift and band T-shirt stores. The hotel above reopened in 2025 as Wyndham Singapore Hotel after a major refurbishment.
Interesting facts
The site was once Coleman House, the 1829 home of G. D. Coleman, Singapore's first Superintendent of Public Works and the architect who gave Coleman Street its name.
Coleman House later became a run of hotels, including the Hotel de la Paix, and the writer Joseph Conrad is recorded among its visitors. It was demolished in 1965.
An underpass beneath Coleman Street links the mall to Peninsula Plaza, and an internal passage connects to the neighbouring Excelsior Shopping Centre.
The 2023 collective sale tender often associated with "Peninsula Excelsior" covered only the Excelsior building at 5 Coleman Street, not this complex.

City Hall MRT interchange (North-South and East-West lines) is about five minutes' walk. Funan mall is next door, with Peninsula Plaza and Grand Park City Hall across Coleman Street. National Gallery Singapore, St Andrew's Cathedral, the Armenian Church, the Central Fire Station, Capitol Singapore and Fort Canning Park are all within roughly ten minutes on foot, and the Singapore River is a short walk south. For food, the mall has its own basement eateries, and Funan's food hall is steps away.
