Penrose is a 99-year leasehold condominium of 566 homes in five 18-storey towers at 20 to 30 Sims Drive. It is registered as MCST 4951.
The land sale
The site was sold through the Government Land Sales programme. EdgeProp reported that the tender closed in March 2019 with five bids, and that the top bid of S$383.5 million came from Hong Leong Holdings and City Developments (EdgeProp, March 2019). Hong Leong noted that the tender required prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction (PPVC) (Hong Leong Group, May 2019).
Development
Hong Leong's launch release in September 2020 named P&T Group as the architect and described homes from one to four bedrooms, with a childcare centre within the development, wellness gardens, a 50-metre pool and a rooftop sky garden (Hong Leong Holdings, September 2020). These describe the original design intent. At launch, completion was expected in 2024.
