About The Golden Mile

The Golden Mile is the new name for the former Golden Mile Complex at 800 Beach Road in District 7 (Middle Road, Golden Mile). The stepped 1973 building, designed by Design Partnership, was gazetted for conservation in October 2021 and sold collectively in May 2022 for $700 million. It is now being restored and refitted as a strata-titled commercial building by a joint venture of Perennial Holdings and Far East Organization.

As of 2026 the building is closed for works, with completion expected around the third quarter of 2029. The plans provide for 156 strata office units on the upper floors, 19 medical suites on level 3, and shops and restaurants on the first two levels, with about 123,000 sq ft of retail space. A publicly accessible architecture centre and an event space with amphitheatre-style seating are also planned. Contact details on this page relate to the original building and may change.

Interesting facts

  • The developers describe it as Singapore's first large strata-titled building to be conserved. The authorities approved extra floors on top of the old structure as part of the conservation package.

  • The conservation work is led by DP Architects, the successor to the original design firm, together with heritage consultancy Studio Lapis.

  • Two urban gardens open to the public are planned, on the 9th and 18th floors. The upper one sits on what used to be the roof.

  • Offices will have their own lift cores and a new lobby with a ceiling about 6 metres high. Sales of the offices and medical suites began in December 2024.

  • A new 45-storey residential tower, Aurea, is rising next door at 802 Beach Road and will be joined to the building by a link bridge.

Nearby

Nicoll Highway MRT (Circle Line) is about a 5-minute walk, and Lavender MRT (East-West Line) about 10 minutes. Neighbours along Beach Road include Golden Mile Tower, The Concourse and Golden Mile Food Centre. Kampong Glam and Sultan Mosque are a short walk west. The Kallang Basin waterfront is across Nicoll Highway.
