Toh Crescent is a small cluster-housing development at 34 and 36 Toh Crescent, comprising ten semi-detached homes designed by HYLA Architects. Its arrangement centres on a shared entrance court, while the main living spaces look towards private gardens around the outside of the site.
Privacy within a shared setting
A 2015 architectural feature reproduced by HYLA explains how the design responds to the close spacing of cluster homes. Rather than opening the living and dining rooms directly onto the communal pool area, the houses use entrance foyers and enclosed courtyards to create a transition into the home.
The original scheme also follows the sloping ground. Raising the first storey made room for basement parking, with openings bringing daylight into that lower level. Granite courtyard walls and screened upper windows help define the shared court while limiting direct views into private rooms.
Pools, gardens and multi-level homes
HYLA’s published project account describes three cascading pool areas for adults, children and toddlers, with frangipani planting along the water. Individual courtyards face this communal space, while private gardens serve the outward-facing living areas. Timber screens and adjoining balconies allow an upper room to relate to the court without being fully exposed to it.
The architect-supplied description on Divisare records five-bedroom homes with study and utility spaces, roof terraces and basement parking. It also explains how the stair and lift cores were set back to reduce the apparent height around the court. These accounts document the original design; individual alterations and present facility arrangements should be checked with the owner and management.
Visits and building enquiries
Use the Toh Crescent management page for building enquiries and confirm the house number before visiting. Estate.sg also records the development under Wisely 98’s managing-agent profile. The managing agent’s office address is separate from the residential development, so check which destination is needed before arranging an appointment.
